Smile Apolonia Garcia is a proud Native Angeleno whose journey in movement began with a natural gift for rhythm and expression. From an early age, she demonstrated an innate connection to dance, which she later nurtured through academic and professional pursuits. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from California State University, Northridge, blending her passion for movement with a deep understanding of the human body and holistic wellness.
For over a decade, Smile has followed a purposeful path rooted in service, using dance and yoga as tools to connect, uplift, and heal. She is a certified yoga teacher with a 200-hour credential from Breath for Change, a program that integrates social-emotional learning and community leadership with mindfulness practices. Her teaching style is both inclusive and empowering, creating spaces where individuals of all backgrounds can explore their potential and celebrate cultural expression. With a vibrant and magnetic energy, Smile has inspired countless students to find their voice through movement.
Her expertise spans a wide range of dance styles, including Salsa, Bachata, Hip Hop, Cumbia, Punta, Reggaeton, Ballet, Modern, Contemporary, Lyrical, Jazz, West African, and more. As an International World Dance Educator, she has had the honor of sharing her knowledge and passion around the world, from local community centers to global festivals and retreats.
